What are you making for Thanksgiving?!

Published November 22, 2013 by Vegan Derby Cat Party

So what are you doing for Thanksgiving?!

I’ve been toying with the idea of just going out, but then we won’t have any leftovers, so that’s kind of not even an option. (Mostly because Thomas & I have been talking about making a Thanksgivng pizza with leftovers all year!) But I’ve been super busy, and haven’t really given it much of a thought. Last year we spent all of Thanksgiving day driving through Texas on our way from Florida to Seattle, so we probably should do something. Especially since Thomas’ sister just moved here last week!

I should probably add that I did end up doing a make-up Thanksgiving in December last year, but I really don’t have any excuse now. We’re all settled in the new apartment and really I just need to decide on what recipes and make a grocery list.

My menu will probably end up being somewhat similar to my 2011 contributions, which was Tofurky/Field Roast, roasted veggies (maple glazed brussel sprouts?), some kind of potato dish and/or a sweet potato casserole, cornbread, pumpkin pies and I’ll need to make some stuffing (probably a double batch!), which thankfully my parents had veganized for me previously, and that I’d already worked out the recipe for.

Don’t forget to enter the giveaway for the Kombucha starter kit, here! Ends Sunday, at midnight!

And because I hate to blog without at least one picture, here’s a pic of Ganon & Midna [stretching themselves out really weird and]meeting their new houseguest, Pugsley who so graciously modeled for the kombucha giveaway post! 😉

Who are you, and why do you have so much hair?

  • Those all sound like delicious Thanksgiving choices- roasted brussels sprouts are the greatest! My holiday will be less impressive since we just blew money on a future vacation but I’ve got the fixins for green bean casserole and will probably splash out for tofurkey sandwiches. 🙂

    (what cute cats!)
