Just a quick post about a yummy product and some news! I GOT A NEW CAMERAPHONE! I used last night’s super fast dinner as an excuse to test out my new phone’s camera capabilities and I’m happy to report I will be able to bring you a bit better of camera quality from now on. It’s my first “smart” phone and I’m still figuring out all the bells and whistles, but you can see by this [random] one how impressive the detail is…
So back to the vegan pepper steaks! : ) I had these once before and remembered they were super yummy. I cut up about 1/3 cup of onion and threw them into an oiled skillet over low-medium heat to cook for a few minutes. Then I added some frozen pepper strips and turned up the heat to medium to cook out the moisture.
I had microwaved the bag of pepper steaks & sauce for 30 seconds to thaw, and then I added them with everything else in the skillet, lowering the heat to low-medium, and cooking them though a few minutes on both side.
I served these on toasted sprouted grain bread with tofutti american singles.
The box says 4 servings, but it’s a lot more like two. They’re really high in protein, have an awesome texture and the sauce is really nicely seasoned and yummy!
