So not every recipe turns out to be a winner! I had been browsing Isa’s vegan brunch book on amazon, and decided to try the omelette in Vegan Comfort Food. This was just an all out fail for me.
The recipe is silken tofu, tahini, onion & garlic powder, turmeric, curry, salt, potato starch (i used corn), nutritional yeast, and soymilk. It sounded promising, but didn’t seem like it was gonna go too well when I laid out the first one. It cooked weird and didn’t smell great. No matter what I couldn’t get it fully cooked and on my second attempt, I kinda burned it. Thomas ate the first one, which was the equivalent of a runny omelette, stuffed with cheese. After the second one burned, I gave up all together, and poured out bowls of cereal : ) This could be why Isa warned people to not try the omelette recipes when they were PMSing to avoid hurling the blender full of batter in frustration. (I used a food processor!)
