well, almost already packed, and the movers are coming tuesday morning. i had a sort of marathon session packing yesterday. so i won’t be doing any cooking until i get settled into the new place next week; hopefully the movers will be able to deliver my stuff on friday. in the mean time, i will keep you posted with some vegan eats before and after NYC, while kitchen-less.
and now onto our brunch! this was one of the places i wanted to hit before i left, and i figured vegan brunch sounded like a good excuse. Counter is located at 105 1st ave, ny.
Roasted Pepper & Leek Frittata smoked tomato jam, hash browns, mesclun, toast: it was SO tasty. the frittata tasted like eggs, only better. the roasted peppers, leeks and tomato were amazing together. the mesclun greens were lightly dressed and fresh, and the hashbrowns were really good. i was glad i ordered myself a portion too! (below) the toast came with a yummy raspberry spread that was quickly devoured.
French Toast French toast, walnuts, cinnamon sugar, fruit: this was my 1st vegan french toast and it was really good. well cooked, not soggy at all, and well seasoned. it came with a delicious cinnamon butter, syrup and fresh fruit. (the fresh apples were also good in the cinnamon butter! )
Cute place, lots of style, the bar is cool. the wait staff was great and so was the food! Brunch is served 11am until 4pm. They accept credit cards.
